Here are a few interesting bachelorette party ideas you can only do in the Asheville area:

Five Ideas For Your Bachelorette Weekend in Asheville and Black Mountain, NC

1) Visit the Biltmore Estate

One bachelorette weekend idea that is entirely unique to Asheville is a visit to the world-renowned Biltmore Estate. This stunning mansion, built by George Vanderbilt in the late 19th century, is the largest privately-owned home in the United States.

The estate is home to beautiful gardens, a winery, and a variety of dining and shopping options. Tour the mansion and learn about the Vanderbilt family’s history, or spend the day exploring the grounds and enjoying the stunning mountain views. Incorporating a Biltmore visit will introduce a little magic into your bachelorette weekend.

2) Breweries and Wineries

Something else you can only do in the Asheville area is tour one of the city’s many breweries and wineries. Asheville is home to a thriving craft beer scene, with over 30 breweries in the city and surrounding area. Take a brewery tour and taste a variety of local beers, or visit a winery and enjoy a wine tasting.

Many breweries and wineries offer private tours and tasting rooms, making them the perfect choice for a bachelorette party.

3) Hiking and Mountain Biking

Western North Carolina is known as much for the outdoors as the food and culture. If you want adventure, go hiking or mountain biking. There is no shortage of options, ranging from quick loops to backcountry tours. There’s some of the best hiking and mountain biking on the East Coast in our area.

Hiking Near Asheville and Black Mountain

  • Craggy Mountain/Gardens: 1 mile | Easy – If you’re looking for an easy hike close to town with great views, this is the perfect option.
  • Linville Falls: 2-4 miles | Moderate – A little more challenging, a bit farther from downtown Asheville, Linville Falls is worth the drive. Your bridal party can enjoy a beautiful drive to Linville on the Parkway before seeing stunning Linville Falls and the Linville Gorge.
  • Crabtree Falls: 3-4 miles | Moderate – There is a little more elevation in this hike, but it’s still relatively easy and well worth it. Once you reach the falls, you have access to a great swimming hole, and there are some stunning views as well.
  • Mount Pisgah:  3 miles | Moderate – This out-and-back goes up and down Mount Pisgah, treating hikers to a magnificent 270-degree view of the Smoky Mountains as the reward for your efforts.
  • Turtleback Falls: 3-4 miles | Moderate – This is a deep forest hike that takes you past wispy Rainbow Falls to the rolling, sliding Turtleback Falls. While you’re in the area, you can Slide down nearby Sliding Rock or plunge into the Looking Glass Falls swimming hole.
  • Catawba Falls: 2-4 miles | Moderate – Views, creek crossings, and, of course, a brilliant waterfall are all features of this hike.
  • Mount Mitchell from Black Mountain/Montreat: 12 miles | Difficult – For those who want a backcountry adventure during their bachelorette weekend, this hike climbs 3,500 feet, but the reward is reaching the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi River the hard way.
  • Art Loeb Trail sections: 2-30 miles | Difficult – One of the highlights of hiking in Pisgah National Forest, any portion of the Art Loeb Trail features big views and backcountry beauty.

Mountain Biking Near Asheville and Black Mountain

  • Bent Creek Experimental Forest: Asheville’s “in-town” trail system is unlike any other. Treat Bent Creek as a sample of Pisgah, prepare for some climbing, but know the downhills are worth it.
  • Dupont State Forest: Trying to choose between riding on slabs, rock gardens, fast flow, sand, loam, or clay, you don’t have to choose at Dupont. Dupont has a little of everything!
  • Pisgah National Forest: For the ultimate backcountry bachelorette party adventure, some combination of Upper, Middle, and Lower Black Mountain, Avery Creek, Bennett Gap, Trace Ridge, Daniel Ridge, or whatever you can fit into the weekend will certainly result in an unforgettable bachelorette weekend.
  • Kitsuma and Heartbreak Ridge: If you head down to Old Fort, you can make laps on Kistuma and the Gateway Trails or the big backcountry Heartbreak Ridge lap.
  • Ride Kanuga Bike Park: If you only ride the park, be warned that Kanuga involves some climbing, but you can always rent an E-Bike and make laps all day.
  • Ridge Rock Creek Bike Park: The newest bike park in the Asheville area, and the only area park with a shuttle service to the top, Rock Creek is a real party!
  • Kolo Bike Park: Make quick laps and work on some progression with your group on a sick jump line at Kolo Bike Park.
  • The Riveter: Part indoor climbing mecca, part biggest jump line in the region, you can’t go wrong with taking your bachelorette party to the Riveter.

There’s no place like western North Carolina for getting outdoors.
